SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said branch railroad shall

the construction of said branch railroad, as hereinbefore pro video,


at an election to be held on that day for the purpose of ascer-


taining the sense of such voters touching said question, and the


said county commissioners shall cause to be printed or written on


the ballots to be used at the said election the words, " For aid to


the Delaware and Chesapeake railway," and the words, " Against


aid to the Delaware and Chesapeake railway," and they are here-


by authorized to pay the costs of such ballots.


SEC. 6. And be it furtJter enacted, That the judges of the elec-


tion in the several election districts shall carefully ascertain the

number of votes cast in their respective districts, " For aid to the

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That if from the returns made by


the judges of the election, as certified by the said clerk, it shall


appear that a majority of the votes were cast in favor of " Aid to

missioners, or a majority of them, are hereby authorized and


directed to issue the bonds of said county to the amount of sixty


thousand dollars, in conformity with the provisions of section one


(section 1) of this act.

Effective

SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.
