CHAPTER 375.


AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments section one


hundred and fifty-five, of article two, of the Code of Public


Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel county," sub-title "Fish,


Crabs and Terrapins," and to add additional sections to said


article, to be designated as "Sections' one hundred and fifty-


five A and one hundred and fifty-five B."


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section one hundred and fifty-five, of article two, of the

Repeal.

Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel


county," sub-title "Fish, Crabs and Terrapins," be and the same


hereby is repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read


as follows :


SEC. 155. It shall not be lawful for any person in the fish


spawning season, that is to say, between the first day of March


and the first day of May in any year, to put, place, erect, construct


or use in the waters of the. Severn river, at any point above Bul-


ling's cove on the one side, and Poplar spring on the other side


of said river; or in the waters of South river above a straight


line drawn from Hodges' wharf on the one side, to Old woman's


point on the other side of South river, or in the waters of Broad


creek of South river, north of a straight line drawn from McNew's

point on the one side, to the lower point of Scott's cove on the


other side of said creek, or in any of the creeks, coves or tribu-


taries of either Severn river or South river, above points where


any such creek, cove or tributary is in its channel of a less depth


than three feet, or anywhere in Severn run of Severn river, any


set-net, fish-basket, fish-pot, fish-trap, set-line, weir, pound-net,


fyke, seine or drag-net, or any other instrument or contrivance


whatsoever, now known or used in the catching or destroying of


fish, or which may hereafter be invented for that purpose, or to


take, catch, capture or destroy any fish from, by or with the same


or any of the same, except with hook and line.


SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the two following sections be


and the same are hereby added to article two, of the Code of


Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel county," sub-title "Fish,


Crabs and Terrapins," to come in after section one hundred and

SEC. 155 A. It shall not be lawful for any person to empty


any seine or net upon the beach or shore within the limits of


said county at any time, so as to leave the small and unmarket-


able fish to perish, but they shall empty their seines or nets in


water not less than twelve inches in depth, so as to permit the
