AN ACT to enable the general convention of universalists to hold


property in the State of Maryland for religious purposes.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That the Universalist general convention, a chartered corporation


holding property in various States of the United States, be au-

thorized in the State of Maryland to receive for religious purposes
by deed or bequest any property, and hold and convey the same ;


and any religions organization now existing or which may here-


after exist within the State of Maryland is hereby authorized to


convey to the general convention aforesaid any property now held


or which may hereafter be acquired by them, any laws to the con-


trary notwithstanding.

Effective.

SEC. 2. Se it enacted, That this act shall take effect from the


date of its passage.
