CHAPTER 350.

AN ACT to sanction and make valid a bequest in the last will

and testament of Benjamin W. Bennett, late of Carroll county,

deceased, to the trustees or officers of Bethany methodist epis-

copal church south, of Carroll county, of twenty-five shares of

the stock of the people's bank of Baltimore city, to be held by

said trustees or officers and the dividends applied to the use of

said church; and also to sanction and make valid a similar be-

quest of said Benjamin W. Bennett, deceased, made in the same

manner and form to St. James' methodist episcopal church

south, of Carroll county.

WHEBEAS, Benjamin W. Bennett, late of Carroll county, de-

ceased, did by his last will and testament duly probated in the

orphans' court of Carroll county, July first, eighteen hundred and

eighty-nine, make a bequest of twenty-five shares of the stock of

the people's bank of Baltimore city, to Bethany methodist epis-

and officers of said church for the uses and trusts specified in said

will; and did also bequeath to St. James' methodist episcopal

church south, of Carroll county, twenty-five shares of the same

stock to be held in trust by the trustees and officers of said church

for the uses and trusts specified in said will; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the bequest of twenty-five shares of stock of the people's

bank of Baltimore city, made to Bethany methodist episcopal

church south, of Carroll county; and a like bequest of twenty-

five shares of stock of the people's bank of Baltimore city made

to St. James' methodist episcopal church south, of Carroll county,

by the last will and testament of Benjamin W. Bennett, late of

said county, deceased, be and the same are hereby sanctioned, con-

firmed and made valid; and the said trustees or officers of said

church be and they are hereby empowered and authorized to re-

ceive the said respective. bequests and hold the same subject to the

provisions of said last will and testament.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
