That the " Trustees of the male free school and Colvin institute


of Baltimore," be and is hereby authorized, empowered and di-


rected to assign, transfer and convey all its funds, property and

assets to "The trustees of the woman's college of Baltimore city,"

Baltimore city" as a special fund to be known as "The Rachel


Colvin fund," the income of which shall be used to aid worthy


students at said college, not less than eight in number to receive


the benefit of said income each year.


SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said "Trustees of


the male free school and Colvin institute of Baltimore," be and


is hereby authorized and empowered to provide rules and regula-

tions for the selection at the said college of the recipients and


beneficiaries of the income of said fund, but in default of such


rules and regulations the said "The trustees of the woman's


college of Baltimore city," shall have power to make such rules


and regulations and make application of such income.


SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That for the purpose of car-


rying out the power and authority given by the first section of this


act, "The trustees of the male free school and Colvin institute of

Baltimore" is hereby authorized and empowered to sell, grant, con-
vey and dispose of all its real estate and personal property, and by


deed, lease or other instrument in writing, under its corporate seal,


signed by its president, and acknowledged by its president or a
duly authorized attorney, make good and sufficient conveyances of


its real estate or other property, the purchaser not to be held to see


to the application of the purchase money.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this act shall ta'ke effect


from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 342.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of one thousand five hundred
and forty-one dollars and seventy-nine cents out of the public
school funds, to re-imburse Garrett county for an instalment
of the State school tax withheld from said county in the year
eighteen hundred and eighty-nine, and also to authorize and
direct the comptroller to apportion to said county the instalment
known as the "March instalment of the State school tax for
the year eight hundred and ninety," said instalment being the
apportionment made to said Garrett county on the fifteenth
day of March in each year.
