and shall also be liable to an indictment for a misdemeanor pun-


ishable by fine or imprisonment or both in the discretion of the


court by which he shall be tried.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.

CHAPTEE 302.


AN ACT to repeal section one hundred and eight, of article seven-


teen, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's


county," sub-title "County Treasurer," and to re-enact the same


with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,


That section one hundred and eight, of article seventeen, of the

Code of Public Local Laws, title "Prince George's county," sub-


title "County Treasurer," be and the same is hereby repealed and


thereupon re-enacted so us to read as follows, viz :


108. He shall keep his office in the court-house open from ten


o'clock, a. m., until three o'clock, p. m., not less than three


uniform secular days in each week, to be designated and made


public by him, for the purpose of receiving payment of taxes and


disbursing the same upon warrant of the county commissioners


or otherwise, as directed and required by law; besides which he

shall also in person, or by his deputy, attend in each election dis-


trict of said county two days between the date of each annual


levy and the first day of October next thereafter, at such place


and time as he may appoint, for the purpose of receiving pay-


ment of said taxes; and he shall give notice of not less than ten


days by advertisement in one paper in said county, and by printed


notice in handbill form posted up in three public places in each


election district of said county of the time when and place where


he will be in said districts, respectively, for collecting and receiv-


ing such taxes.
