CHAPTER 291.


AN ACT to fix the compensation of the sheriff of Garrett county


for boarding prisoners confined in the jail of said county.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the sheriff of Garrett county shall be allowed for keeping

prisoners

and boarding each prisoner committed to the jail of said county


the sum of forty cents per day to be levied by the county com-


missioners at their annual levy of taxes for said county.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts in con-


flict with the provisions of this act be and the same are hereby


repealed so far as the same relate to Garrett county.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from


the date of its passage.
