CHAPTER 485.

|
AN ACT to add certain sections after section ninety
|
|
|
|
of article thirty of the Code of Public General
|
|
|
|
Laws, title "Crimes and Punishments," to be
|
|
|
|
numbered as sections ninety A and ninety B of
|
|
|
|
said article.
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the following sections shall
|
|
|

Punishments," and be numbered and lettered as sec-
|
|
|

tions ninety A and ninety B of that article.

|
|
|
90 A. Any person who may commit any indicta-
|
|
|
|
able offence on a steamboat or railroad train within
|
|
|
|
the State of Maryland may be presented, indicted,
|
|
|
|
tried and convicted in any county or city from, to or
|
|
|
May be pre-
sented, &c.
|
through which the said boat or train may run, and
on arrest be taken before, and in case of bailable
|
|
|
|
offences be held to bail by any justice of the peace
|
|
|
|
in any such county or city, but such presentment,
indictment and trial shall be in the same county and
|
|
|
|
city in which said justice of the peace shall be.
|
|
|
Jurisdiction
of justice.
|
90. B Any justice of the peace in any county or
city from, through or to which any steamboat or rail-
road train may run, shall have jurisdiction of all
offences cognizable by justices of the peace, when
|
|
|
|
the same shall have been committed on such boat or
|
|
|
|
train.
|
|
|
Effective.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this act shall take
|
|
|
|
effect from the date of its passage.
|
|
|
|
