CHAPTER 459.
|

|
AN ACT to change the name of the Worcester and
|
|
|
|
Somerset Railroad Company to that of 'the Pen-
|
|
|
|
insula Railroad Company, and authorize said rail-
|
|
|
|
road to be extended to Maryland and Virginia
|
|
|
|
State line, and to connect and consolidate with
|
|
|
|
any other railroad at said line.
|
|
|
|
WHEREAS the Worcester and Somerset Railroad,
|
|
|
|
by a foreclosure of its first mortgage bonds, was sold
|
|
|

|
to M. H. Painter, representing the bondholders of
|
|
|
|
said railroad company —
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly
|
|
|
|
of Maryland, That the corporate name of the Wor-
|
|
|

cester and Somerset Railroad Company be and is
hereby changed to that of the Peninsula Railroad
|
|
|
|
Company, reserving to said railroad company all the
rights and privileges of the Worcester and Somerset
|
|
|
|
Railroad company.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Peninsula
|
|
|
Authorized
|
Railroad Company be and is hereby authorized to
extend said railroad to any point in Worcester county
on the Maryland and Virginia State line, and is
|
|
|
to extend.
|
hereby also further authorized and empowered, by
|
|
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of the directors, and with the
|
|
|
|
assent of the owners of a majority of the stock
|
|
|
|
of said company, to connect and consolidate said
|
|
