	in case of a second or other disagreement of the
	jury, the same proceedings shall be had until a ver-
	dict or inquisition shall be made and returned and
	confirmed as aforesaid.
	SEC. 2. And be it enacted further by the Gen-
	eral Assembly of Maryland, That the said act of	Sections add-
	eighteen hundred and seventy-eight, chapter one hundred and ninety-five, incorporating the Baltimore	ed thereto.
	and Delta Railway Company, he supplemented by
	adding thereto the following sections :
	SEC. 17. And be it enacted, That a general meet-
	ing of the stockholders of said railway company
	shall be held annually on the first Thursday after	Time of meet-
	the first Monday in January, in each year here-	ing.
	after, at such place, along or near the line of said
	road in this State, as may be designated by the
	board of directors of said company, and at least
	thirty days' public notice of the time and place of
	such meeting shall be given by the said board of
	directors, at which meeting a board of thirteen
	directors shall be chosen by ballot to manage the
	affairs of said company for the year ensuing their election, and until their successors are legally elected ;
	and the said thirteen directors so chosen, or a major-
	ity of them, shall have the power, and it shall be
	their duty, to elect one of their number as the presi-	Elect Presi-
	dent of said company, and they shall allow him such compensation for his services as they may deem	dent.
	proper ; and at said annual meeting, and on other
	occasions when a vote of the stockholders of said
	company is to be taken, a majority in value of the
	stockholders shall be necessary to constitute a
	quorum, and each stockholder shall be. allowed one
	vote for each and every share owned by him, her or	Number of
	it, and any stockholder may, in voting, depute any	votes.
	other person to vote and act for him, her or it, as his,
	her or its proxy ; and if any vacancy in the said
	board of directors shall occur by death, resignation
	or otherwise, a stockholder to fill such vacancy for
	the residue of the year may be appointed by the re-
	maining directors of said company, or a majority of
	them.
