CHAPTER 419.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,

section nineteen of chapter one hundred and eight

of the acts of eighteen hundred and seventy-eight,

entitled "An act to add an additional article to

the Code of Public Local Laws," to be entitled

"Garrett county," so as to empower the clerk to

the county commissioners to administer oaths in

certain cases.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-

bly of Maryland, That section nineteen of chapter

as to read as follows :

SEO. 19. The said clerk is hereby authorized and

empowered to administer an oath or affirmation to

any person or persons presenting a claim to said

commissioners against said county ; to any person or

persons filing any paper with said commissioners, to

which an affidavit is required by law ; and to any

make any charge, the same being hereby made a

part of his official duty as clerk ; and said clerk shall

be entitled to such compensation as shall be fixed by

SEC. 2. And be it enacted,. That this act shall take
