CHAPTER 418.


AN ACT to repeal sections one and ninety-four,


one hundred and ninety-six and one hundred


and ninety-seven of chapter thirty-five of arti-


cle four, Code of Public Local Laws, relat-


ing to the city of Baltimore, sub- title "Docks," as


repealed and re-enacted by chapter four hundred


and eight of the acts of eighteen hundred and


seventy-two, and to re-enact the same with amend-


ments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-


bly of Maryland, That sections one hundred and


ninety-four, one hundred and ninety-six, one hundred

and ninety-seven of chapter thirty-five of article four,
Code of Public Local Laws, relating to the city of
Baltimore, sub-title " Docks," as repealed and re-en-


acted by chapter four hundred and eight of the acts


of eighteen hundred and seventy-two, be and the


same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read


as follows :


194. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That if any vessel shall be lying in

struct.

Smith's dock, Frederick street dock or any other


dock in said city, or the entrance thereto, so as to


obstruct any vessel which shall be coining into the


same, or moving from one place to another therein,


or going out of the same, the vessel so obstructing


shall be removed to such place as shall be directed


by the harbor master of the district, or any police


officer of Baltimore city, to give room to the passing


vessel, under the penalty of five dollars for refusal so


to remove, and at the rate of five dollars an hour for


the delay which shall be occasioned to the passing


vessel, unless in cases where some unavoidable casu-


alty may make impractible to remove said obstruct-


ing vessel ; and if a vessel, when moving to make


room for another, be obstructed by any vessel, the


master or owner of such obstructing vessel shall


forfeit five dollars for such obstruction, and at the
