CHAPTER 271.

|
|
|
AN ACT to enable the qualified voters of Wicomico
|
|
|
|
|
county to determine by ballot whether cattle or
|
|
|
|
|
other stock shall run at large within the limits of
|
|
|
|
|
said county.
|
|
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted, ty the General Assem-
|
|
|
|
|
bly of Maryland, That the registered and qualified
voters of Wicomico county shall determine by ballot,
at the next election in said county, to be held on the

teen hundred and eighty, whether or not any cattle

or other stock shall be allowed to run at large with-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the said election,
|
|
|

|
the ballots to be cast shall have written or printed
|

carefully counted by the judges of said election, who

cast for and against the adoption of the said stock

|
|
|
law to the clerk of the circuit court for said county,

|
|
|
|
who shall cause the same to be recorded, and state-
|
|
|
|
|
ments of the same certified under his hand and seal
|
|
|
|
|
of office, to be printed and published once in each of

the newspapers of said county as soon as possible ;

and the expense of such publication shall be levied

by the county commissioners of said county, and

paid by the collector of the same.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if it shall appear
|
|

by the returns aforesaid that a majority of the num-
|
|
|
|

ber of ballots taken at said election which shall have
