shall be presented to the said County Commis-
|

|
|
sioners within eighteen months from the said first
|
|
|
|
day of June in the year in which such taxes were
|
|
|
|
levied. &c. And in no case shall the said county
|
|
|
|
commissioners allow credits for erroneous or in-
|
|
|
|
solvent tax-bills, unless satisfactory proof be pro-
|
|
|
|
duced ; under oath, that said bills cannot be col-
|
|
|
|
lected, and the officers or collectors now charged
|
|
|
|
with the balances of taxes due on the levies of
|
|
|
|
eighteen hundred and seventy-seven, and of eigh-
|
|
|
|
teen hundred and seventy-eight, shall close up
|
Collectors to
|
|
|
their accounts and make final settlement with the
|
close up.
|
|
|
County Commissioners of Baltimore county, and
|
|
|
|
pay said balances into the treasury of said county
|
|
|
|
within six months from the date of the passage of
|
|
|
|
this act, and in default thereof their official bond
|
|
|
|
(as also the official bond of any other collector
|
|
|
|
failing to comply with the requirements of this
|
|
|
|
act) shall be liable to be put in suit by the County
|
|
|
|
Commissioners of Baltimore county.
|
|
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
