licensed under this act ; provided, however, that if

there shall not be twelve freeholders resident in the
|
|
|
|
school district in which the house may be situated
|
|
|
|
where intoxicating liquors are expected to be sold,
|
|
|
|
or if said house be not situated within the limits of
|
|
|
|
any school district, in such case it shall be sufficient
|
|
|
|
that the certificate required by this section shall be
|
|
|
|
signed by twelve freeholders, resident in the election
|
|
|
|
district in which such hotel may be situated.
|
|
|
|
SUB SECTION D. Before any person can obtain a.
|
|
|
License for
|
license under this act, he shall be required to pay to
|
|
|
each place.
|
the said clerk for the license to be issued as herein-
|
|
|
|
after directed, for each place of sale of intoxicating
|
|
|
|
liquor, the sum of money which is now, or which
|
|
|
|
may hereafter be, required by the general law of the
|
|
|
|
State, to be paid into the treasury of the State, and
|
|
|

shall, in addition thereto, pay the said clerk, for a li-
|
|
|
al.

cense to sell by the drink, the sum of one hundred
|
|
|
|
dollars, or for a license to sell by measure, sixty dol-
|
|
|
|
lars for one year, or, for a fractional part of a year,
|
|
|
|
pro rata, to be paid by said clerk to the Board of
|
|
|
|
County School Commissioners of Somerset county,
|
|
|
|
to be by said board applied to and used as a part of
|
|
|
|
the public general school fund of said county, and
|
|
|
Bond liable.

the bond of the said clerk shall be liable for the pay-
|
|
|
|
ment of said money on suit instituted by said board,
|
|
|
|
and all licenses issued under this act shall expire on
|
|
|
|
the first day of May next thereafter, and whenever the
|
|
|
|
foregoing provisions have been fully complied with
|
|
|
|
it shall be the duty of the said clerk to issue to the
|
|
|

SUB-SECTION E. No person who shall obtain a li-
