and for such other improvements in said corporation

as said commissioners shall deem proper.

SEC. 9 And be it enacted, That a majority of the
|
|
|

commissioners shall constitute a quorum for the

transaction of business, and shall, at their first meet-

ing, which shall not be more than five days after

their election, select one of their number president,

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That all persons who

have resided within the aforesaid limits of the town

of Upper Maryborough for twelve months prior to

|

SEC. 11. And le it enacted, That no one who has

to serve as commissioner, and non-residence shall
|
|

create a vacancy.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That the said commis-

sioners shall meet once a month, or as much oftener

|
as the public good may require, and shall receive no
compensation for their services; they shall have power

duties conferred on them by this act, and shall define

their particular duties and fix their compensation;

they shall take from the person appointed to collect

taxes such bond as they may think sufficient, and

the bond of said collector shall be liable to be sued

|
|
|
in the same manner as the bonds of collectors of
|
|
|
|
State and county taxes now are, in the name of the
|
|
|
|
State, use of the Town Commissioners of Upper
|
|
|

by them to take an oath, to be administered by the

president, or one of said commissioners in his ab-
