wise appropriated for the erection of a suitable monument in
the city of Baltimore to commemorate the valor and courage of
those sons of Maryland who, on land and sea, fought for the
preservation of the Federal Union, civil war, 1861-5.

30. The said monument shall have suitable designs or
statues or figures thereon commemorating the different branches
of the service—that is, of the infantry, cavalry, artillery and
the navy.

81. The governor of Maryland is hereby authorized and
directed to appoint a monument commission, composed of
seven union soldiers or sailors of honorable record, represent-
ing different branches of the U. S. military or naval service
during the civil war, 1861-5, whose duty it shall be to carry
out the provisions of this sub-title.

32. Upon the exhibit of properly authenticated vouchers
from the said monument commission hereby authorized, the
comptroller of the treasury for the State of Maryland is hereby
authorized and directed to draw his warrants upon the treas-
urer of Maryland for the payment of the same.

84. Within thirty days after April 5, 1906, the governor
shall appoint a board of five commissioners, to serve without
pay, for the revision of the laws relating to the subjects of
the care and detention of minors, juvenile courts, probation
systems and detention homes, who shall hold office for a term
not exceeding two years, and shall report to the general assem-
bly of Maryland of 1908 such amendments and revisions of
said laws as they may deem expedient and proper.
