and extension, under the direction of the State board of

18. There is hereby appropriated the sum of thirty-five
hundred dollars ($3, 500) annually for the fiscal years 1907 and

18. For the purpose of properly and efficiently keeping and
guarding the public buildings and grounds in the city of
Annapolis, and the movable property of the State therein, the
governor shall appoint the following officers, to wit: A com-
petent person to be superintendent of public buildings and
grounds, who shall be paid a salary of twelve hundred dollars
per annum; an assistant superintendent, who shall be paid a
salary of nine hundred dollars per annum; a person to take
charge of the governor's mansion and the premises thereof, at
