deemed advisable, the whole or a part of such material shall
be put on permanent exhibition.

24. Said commission is authorized to make provision for
the completion of the topographic survey of Maryland in such
manner as in the opinion of the commission will be of the
greatest benefit to the agricultural, industrial, geological and
military requirements of the State of Maryland, and to publish
special reports dealing with the various mineral products and
with the natural resources of each county in the State of
Maryland.

25. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this
sub-title, the sum of fifteen thousand dollars annually, or so
much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated out of any
funds in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, and the said
amount shall be drawn from the treasury by the said commis-
sion in the same manner as the other funds of the survey.

26. Geological and economic commission is authorized to
make provision for the investigation of the question of road
construction in Maryland.

27. Said commission is authorized to appoint, under the
direction of the superintendent of the survey, such assistants
and other employes as they shall deem necessary and the said
commission shall also determine the compensation of all per-
sons employed and may remove them at pleasure.

28. Said commission shall see that proper investigation is
made of the condition of the roads in this State and of the
best means of improving the same, together with a study of
the classification and distribution of the road building materials
in the several counties.

29. Said commission shall see that a report upon the state
of the roads and the best method of improving, constructing
