copies of all the opinions of the court of appeals, to be paid
for by the said clerk out of the fees of his office.

6. Volume 97 of the Maryland reports, now in course of
publication, shall be paid for by the comptroller and treasurer
in the manner now provided by law; and that this act shall be
applicable to the publication of the reports subsequent to said
volume 97.

7. The State reporter and codifier shall forthwith, after the
session of the general assembly in the year 1910, and decen-
nially thereafter, prepare a code of the public general laws of
the State of Maryland. The said code when prepared shall
be submitted to a commission of three men learned in the law,
who shall be appointed by the court of appeals, and if they, or
a majority of them, shall approve the same in writing, then the
reporter and codifier shall cause advertisements to be published
in at least two daily papers of the State for one month asking
for bids for the publication of such code within six months
thereafter; the number of volumes to be prescribed by the
court of appeals. And the lowest bidder therefor, upon giving
bond to the State of Maryland in the sum of ten thousand
dollars, shall receive the contract for the publication of such
code of public general laws, and if the said code of public
general laws when published by said publisher shall be
approved by the commission hereinbefore provided for, the
said publisher shall be paid for the same by the State of Mary-
land, on the order of the comptroller to the treasurer of the
State, out of such funds of the State as have not been otherwise
appropriated. The said State reporter and codifier shall pro-
vide in like manner, from time to time, according to need, for
the codification and publication of a code of public local laws
of the State, but may have the same printed collectively or
separately for the several counties in such paper binding as he
may deem for the best interest and advantage of the people of
the State.

8. Immediately upon the completion of the code of public
general laws in the year 1910, and decennially thereafter, the
same shall be submitted by the State reporter and codifier to a
commission to be appointed by the court of appeals of Mary-
land, and after examination, if a majority thereof shall so
