59. The sum of fifteen hundred dollars, or so much thereof
as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended
under the direction of said commission for the purpose herein
specified, and the treasurer is hereby directed to pay all
vouchers submitted and approved by said commissioners, or a
majority of them, in accordance with this sub-title; that is,
for cases, transportation, labor, etc., as well as the necessary
expenses of the commissioners.

60. As soon as the said battle-flags have been obtained and
cared for as herein provided for, they shall be formally turned
over to the governor, who shall direct that the care and custody
thereof in th'e future shall be under the supervision of the
adjutant general, and the function of said battle-flag commis-
sioners shall cease. The said commissioners shall serve with-
out compensation, other than their necessary expenses, board,
etc., whilst on official business.
