1244 HEALTH. [ART. 43

1894, ch. 273, sec. 12.

118. Any person not registered who shall practise veterinary
medicine or surgery, or any branch thereof within the State of
Maryland, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall
be fined in the sum of not less than one hundred nor more
than five hundred dollars for each offense, or imprisonment in
the house of correction for any term not less than three
months, nor more than twelve months for each and every
offense.

119. The said board shall be the prosecutor in all cases
under this sub-title, and such fine and imprisonment may be
imposed by any justice of the peace of the city of Baltimore
or any county where such offense may be committed.

120. One moiety of the fine imposed under this sub-title
shall be paid to the informer, and the other moiety shall be
paid into the county treasury wherein the offense shall have
been committed.

121. In any part of any election district of any county in
the State where it may not, in the judgment of the owner of
the animal, be advisable to secure the services of a duly
authorized veterinary surgeon, then the person desiring to obtain
advice as to the physical condition of any animal or animals
belonging to him may procure the services of any person that
he may desire to give such advice or to perform any services
for the relief of his animal or animals that may be necessary.

122. No person shall mix, color, stain or otherwise sophisti-
cate any article of food or drink with any other ingredient or
material for the purpose of gain or profit, nor shall sell or offer
for sale or order or permit any employe or other person to sell
or offer for sole any article so mixed, colored, stained or other-
wise sophisticated, unless the same be so manufactured, used or
sold, or offered for sale under its true and appropriate name,
and unless a notice that the same is mixed or impure is marked,
printed or stamped upon each pakage, roll, parcel or vessel
containing the same, so as to be and remain at all times
