said, the offender may be discharged from the service without
honor by the commander-in-chief, upon the recommendation,
respectively, of the commanding officer of the regiment or sepa-
rate organization, forwarded through regular channels, or of the
commanding officer of the naval brigade to which lie belongs, as
the case may be.

3. SERVICE AND PAY.
1900, ch. 657.

31- There shall be an encampment of the first brigade in the
year nineteen hundred, and in every alternate year thereafter;
and there shall be an encampment of the three regiments of the
brigade separately, and such of the separate organizations as the
commander-in chief may designate, except the naval brigade, in
the year nineteen hundred and one, and in every alternate year
thereafter, such encampments to be held within the limits of the
State, at such lime and place and for such length of time as the
commander-in-chief may determine. There shall be an encamp-
ment or cruise of the naval brigade in the year nineteen hundred,
and in every year thereafter, at such time and place and for such
length of time as the commander-in-chief may determine, and
such encampment or cruise of said naval brigade may be held
without the limits of the State, if the commander-in-chief so
determines; provided, however, that no encampment or cruise
shall be had in any given year if the commander in chief, for
good and sufficient reasons, shall so order.

32- Whenever any of said organizations shall be ordered into
camp or on a cruise, as aforesaid, or whenever ordered out by the
commander-in-chief, each enlisted man shall receive the following
pay for each and every day of service, viz.: Non-commissioned
staff and first sergeants, one dollar and seventy-five cents; ser-
geants, one dollar and fifty cents; corporals, one dollar and
twenty-five cents; musicians and privates, one dollar; musicians,
seamen, ordinary seamen and landsmen of the naval brigade,
one dollar; warrant and petty officers of the naval militia
according to their relative rank, as determined by the commander-
in-chief; and in addition to said pay, each enlisted man shall
