each weight, measure or scale beam adjusted, to bo paid by the
person making application.

1872, ch. 189.

240. If a keeper be appointed he shall perform such duties
as are required by law of such officers, or so much thereof as the
county commissioners shall deem necessary, and he shall be
entitled to such compensation as they may establish, and shall
give bond in the penalty of three hundred dollars for the safe
keeping of such standard and the performance of the duties of
his office.

WESTERNPORT.
1886, ch. 33.

241. The citizens of the town of Westernport, in Allegany

county, are constituted and made a body corporate, by the name
of the Commissioners of Westernport, with all the privileges of
a body corporate, and a common seal and perpetual succession.

242. The limits of said town shall extend as follows: begin-
ning at the mouth of the sewer of the upper round-house of the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad Company's shops, and running
north twenty-five degrees (25°) west four hundred feet to the

county road; then north twenty-one and a half degrees (21 1/2o)
east five thousand two hundred and fifty (5, 250) feet; then south
sixty-eight and a half degrees, (68 1/2°) east forty-one hundred and
fifty (4, 150) feet, to a bounded white oak; then south twenty-
one and a half degrees (21 1/2°) west five thousand two hundred
and eighty (5, 280) feet, to corner of bridge-pier, on West Virginia
line, opposite to lower end of Hominy Gland; then up and with
said line to the beginning; and the property within said limits
shall be subject to such taxes and charge's as may be deemed
necessary by said commissioners, or a majority of them, to sup-
port and maintain the expenses which may at any time be
incurred in the government and improvement of said town.
