by municipal ordinance, are exempted from the operation of sec-
tions 157-162 of article 81 of the code of public general laws, title
"Revenue and Taxes," relating to the taxation of dogs in this
State.
ELECTION DISTRICTS.

28. Carroll county is divided into thirteen election districts,
according to their present bounds and limits, and elections for
public officers shall be held in each of said districts at the places
heretofore established by law for that purpose.

29. The seventh election district of Carroll county, shall be
divided into two election precincts, with the metes and bounds
heretofore established by law.
1870, ch. 302.
30. It shall be the duty of the county commissioners to ap-
point three persons for each of said precincts, residents thereof,
to act as judges of elections for said precincts, who shall per-
form the duties of their office as required by law as judges of
elections; and such judges shall make their returns in the same
manner as if the said precincts were districts, and in accordance
with the law now applicable to judges of elections for districts,
and they shall receive the same compensation as other judges of"
elections in said county.
FENCES.

31. Whenever joint fences have been or may be established
in the county for the mutual advantage of owners of adjoining
arable lands, each shall keep in good repair his respective proportion
thereof in the manner following, that is to say: all posts and rail
or plank fences shall be at least four feet and a half high, stone
fences four feet high, and all worm or other fences shall be at
least five feet high, the distance in any case to be computed
from the ground or base of any embankment on which the
same may be placed.
