1865, ch. 86.

229. A majority of the commissioners shall constitute a
quorum to transact business, and in case of a vacancy in the
board of commissioners during the year, the remaining commis-
sioners shall have power to fill the vacancy until the regular

election for town commissioners.

WITNESSES.

1888, ch. 860.

230. There shall be allowed to each witness attending the cir-
cuit court or orphans' court for Caroline county, the sum of one
dollar for each day such witness shall attend for the discharge of
his duties, and five cents for every mile that his place of residence
is distant from Denton, such mileage to be computed for each
day's attendance; but no mileage shall be allowed any witness
within three miles of Denton.
