65. The said treasurer shall occupy the office of the county
commissioners, and keep the office open for business from ten
o'clock in the forenoon until three o'clock in the afternoon each
day in the week except Sundays and legal holidays, (unless a
temporary leave of absence be granted by them); and said treas-
urer shall receive a salary of one thousand dollars per annum.

66. The said treasurer shall receive and keep, and pay over
according to the directions of law or the order of the county com-
missioners, the proceeds of all taxes levied in said county, and
shall keep full accounts of all monies received and paid by him,
and of all matters relating to the duties of his office, with all
vouchers relating thereto; and upon the expiration of his term
shall transfer and deliver to his successor in office all books, ac-
counts and papers of every kind connected therewith; he shall
also attend all meetings of the county commissioners, make min-
utes of and record all their proceedings, and perform such other
duties as they shall from time to time require.

67. It shall not be lawful for the said treasurer, during hie con-
tinuance in office, to have, hold, purchase or acquire for his own
use, either directly or indirectly, any claim on or against the said
county, or any share or interest therein, whether the same has
been or is to be passed upon and approved by the county commis-
sioners, or to receive, enjoy or participate in any benefit, profit
or emolument arising from any such claim and demand, or from
any agreement or contract made and entered into by the said
county commissioners, except such claims, demands and agree-
ments as arise directly to and with himself under and in the dis-
charge of the duties of his office.
