216. The persons or body corporate owning ground binding
on the northerly or northwesterly side of the Baltimore and
Fredericktown turnpike road or avenue, between the Garrison
forest road and Baltimore city limits, are authorized and em-
powered to have and set curbstones and to pave foot-ways so that
they do not exceed twelve feet in width from the northerly or
northwesterly line of said turnpike line.

217. No public road shall be opened or altered so as to pass
through any burial ground without the consent, in writing, of the
owner.
SCHOOLS.
1884, ch. 93.
218. The board of school commissioners of Baltimore county
are authorized to establish night schools in said county, whenever
and wherever they may, in their judgment, deem it necessary.

219. The said night schools, wherever established, shall be
held in the same school houses that are now used or shall be used
for the day schools of Baltimore county, and the same by-laws
and regulations governing the said day schools shall also apply to-
said night schools, as far as practicable.

220. The expense of conducting said night schools shall be
defrayed in the same manner as that of the day schools of said
county.

221. The county commissioners are authorized and required
to make the levy for the support of the public schools, in two-
specific sums, of which one shall be apportioned and used for the
current expenses of the public schools, and the other for the
building of new school houses, and for no other purpose whatever.
