2186 WORCESTER COUNTY. [ART. 24.

1874, ch. 164.

275. No person, at any time, shall kill or shoot at any wild
fowl within the limits of Worcester county, with any swivel or
pivot gun, or any kind of gun which cannot be conveniently dis-
charged from the shoulder at arm's length and without a rest.

276. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of
the preceding section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction thereof before a justice of the peace, or upon
indictment and conviction in the circuit court for Worcester county
shall be fined not less than ten dollars nor more than one hundred
dollars, and pay all costs; one-half of said fine to be paid to the
informer; and in all cases of conviction of the party arrested, or
sale of a gun, net, fire-light or boat, under this sub-title of this
article, the officer making the arrest or seizure shall be entitled to
a fee of ten dollars, to be collected from the party convicted, or
from the proceeds of sale of said gun, net, fire-light or boat, in
addition to all other costs.

277. When any person is convicted of the violation of any of
the provisions of this sub-title of this article, and refuses, neglects
or fails to pay the fine for which judgment is given against him,
and all costs, he shall be committed to the county jail of Worces-
ter county for not less than ten days nor more than forty days;
but the party so committed shall be released on the payment of
the fine, costs and jail expenses.

278. Upon information given upon oath to any justice of the
peace of said county, of any violation of any of the provisions of
this sub-title of this article, he shall issue his warrant for the
arrest of the offender, and the seizure of the gun, net, fire-light or
boat, together with the tackle or furniture on board; which war-
rant shall be directed to the sheriff or any constable of Worcester
county, commanding the said sheriff or constable to bring the
offender before some justice of the peace of said county.
