northwest of Col. William H. Merrill's residence; thence north
fifty-five and one-half degrees, east one hundred and twenty-eight
perches to an old red oak standing on the northwest side of a
road leading to Dr. Harris' house, to Winter Quarter landing;
thence running south twenty-two and one-half degrees, east one
hundred and seventy-four perches; thence south forty-seven de-
grees, west two hundred and seventy-three perches to a ditch on
the edge of a red hill, in William J. Long's field; thence north
fifty-five degrees, west one hundred and seventy perches to the
aforesaid river; thence up, by and with the same to the first
beginning.

205. All elections shall be held and conducted as shall be
from time to time directed by the laws of the corporation, not
inconsistent with the provisions of this sub-title of this article.

206. The said commissioners, on their first meeting after their
election, shall choose some one of their number president of the
board, whose duty it shall be to preside at their meetings, and
preserve order and give such directions as may be deemed neces-
sary by them to carry into effect the provisions of this sub-title of
this article.

207. They may meet together from time to time, as of ten as
occasion may require, upon the business of said town, and not less
than once in six months; and if during the time for which they
may be elected, any of them shall die, resign, remove from said
town, or be otherwise disqualified, an election to fill the vacancy,
on ten days' notice thereof being given by the commissioners,
shall be held, at which all persons qualified as specified in sec-
tion 203, shall be entitled to vote.

208. They shall have power to appoint a clerk and assign his
duties, and allow him such compensation for his services as they
may think proper; and all ordinances passed by them shall be
entered by their clerk in a book to be kept by him for that pur-
pose, which shall be open at all times to the inspection of any
