210 BALTIMORE COUNTY. [ART. 3.

aforesaid, in the discharge of their duty, shall be paid by the
county commissioners.

123. The county commissioners are authorized to provide a
sufficient force of men and carts for the removal of garbage,
ashes and all other'offal from such parts of Canton, Catonsville
and Towson, and their vicinities, as it may be necessary in the
judgment of the sanitary officers to employ; and the said sanitary
officers are authorized and empowered to have control of this
force, and to report any failure or delinquency on the part of
said force to the county commissioners.

124. All residents of such parts of Canton, Catonsville and
Towson, and their vicinities as may be supplied with a force for
the collection of garbage, ashes and other offal, shall be required
to collect all offal accumulating on their premises into suitable
receptacles, and put them in pkces convenient to the collectors
of garbage and other offal; and any resident who shall allow
such offal to accumulate on his premises without so collecting
and so placing it, shall be subject to a fine of not less than one
dollar nor more than five dollars; said fine and costs to be col-
lected as other fines and costs are collected.

125. Any person who shall commit a nuisance by throwing
offial of any kind into any alley, by-way, roadway, or upon any
vacant lot in Canton, Catonsville, Towson, and their vicinities,
shall be subject to a fine of not less than one nor more than five
dollars.

126. Every owner of lots in Canton, Catonsville, Towson,
and their vicinities, which are supplied with water from wells
and springs, or other property having tenants, shall be required
to place in each and every privy, water-closet or out-house, a
water-tight box for the reception of all urinary and faecal matters,
under a penalty of five dollars fine for refusing or neglecting to
supply the same; and such box shall be emptied by the occupant;
and it shall be the duty of the party occupying said premises to
