1714 QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY. [ART. 18.

train for said tax as the collectors of county taxes and levies
possess, and to enforce in like manner the payment thereof by
sale; the said taxes, when collected, shall be by said bailiff paid
over to the town commissioners; and in default, the bond of said
bailiff shall be liable to said commissioners; and the said commis-
sioners, in levying the tax aforesaid, shall be governed by the
State and county assessment of all such property.

240. All fines and forfeitures under the ordinances of the cor-
poration shall be recoverable as small debts, and shall be paid
into the hands of said town commissioners.

SUDLERSVILLE.

1870, ch. 313.

241. The town of Sudlersville, in Queen Anne's county, is
incorporated, and the inhabitants thereof are a body politic by
the name and style of " The Commissioners of Sudlersville," and
as such may sue and be sued, and may have and use a common
seal and may alter the same at pleasure.

242. All persons entitled to vote for delegates to the general
assembly of Maryland, and who have resided within the corporate
limits of said town of Sudlersville for six months preceding an
election of town commissioners, or who hold taxable property in
said town and pay taxes thereon, shall elect by ballot on the third
Monday in the month of April in each and every year, three
persons residents of said town for the period of six months pre-
ceding said election, and entitled to vote for delegates to the
general assembly of Maryland, as commissioners for said town
for the ensuing year, or until their successors are elected and
qualified.

243. If any of said commissioners shall die, resign or be dis-
qualified to act, the citizens of said town, qualified to vote as
aforesaid, shall proceed as soon as convenient to elect a person to
fill such vacancy, and the office of a commissioner shall be vacated
by his removal from town.
