1880, ch. 176.

244. It shall not be lawful for any persons, not actually resi-
dents of Anne Arundel, Prince George's St. Mary's, Charles and
Calvert counties, to shoot or trap upon the waters of the Patuxent
river, its tributaries, or the marshes bordering upon the same, any
goose, duck, snipe, ortolan or other wild fowl.

245. Any person who may be found violating the provisions
of the preceding section, shall, upon conviction thereof before a
justice of the peace of the county wherein the offence was com-
mitted, be fined not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty
dollars for the first offence, and not less than twenty-five nor more
than one hundred dollars for each and any subsequent offence;
and the boat, gun, ammunition, and all other property found in
the possession or use of such person at the time of the arrest
shall be held until such fine is paid, one-half of said fine to go to
the informer, the other half to the school fund of the county in
which the offence was committed.

246. No person shall kill or shoot at wild fowl in, on or over
the waters of Anne-Arundel county, or the waters of Chesapeake
bay, within the limits of said county, from any boat, box or con-
trivance of any kind, with any kind of gun which cannot be dis-
charged from the shoulder at arms length and without a rest;
and any person violating this section, on conviction thereof, shall
pay a fine of not less than one hundred dollars nor more than,
five hundred dollars for each offence.

247. No owner, master, hirer, borrower, or employee of any
owner or other person, shall use or employ any sink-box for the
purpose of shooting at wild fowl therefrom, in the waters of
Anne Arundel county and of Chesapeake bay, lying and being
within the limits of said county, without a license for the use of
said sink-box as provided in the three succeeding sections.
