commissioners shall be written in a plain hand, or printed and
posted at two public places in town, to be determined by the

commissioners.

322. They may, by ordinance, prohibit the firing of guns and
pistols in said town, and may prohibit the tumultuous and irregu-
lar meetings of idle and dissolute persons, and shall give general

directions to the bailiff to disperse the same by lawful means.

323. They shall hare erected in said town, lamp-posts and
lamps at such places as they may think proper, and shall provide
for lighting said lamps.

324. Any justice of the peace, resident in said town, desig-
nated by said commissioners, upon complaint made before him of
the violation of any ordinance of the said corporation, shall issue
process in the name of said commissioners, to recover the fine or
penalty imposed for the violation of such ordinance, against the
party offending, and may hear and determine the matter, as any
case arising under the laws of the State, and shall receive the
same fees therefor.

325. The justice of the peace may, in default of payment of
any fine or penalty imposed by him for the violation of any ordi-
nance of the said corporation, commit the party fined to the

county jail for a period not exceeding ten days; and the sheriff
shall receive and confine the party so committed in the same
manner as other prisoners, and shall be entitled to the same com-
pensation therefor.

326. Any person may take up and impound any geese or

wine which may be found going at large in the town of Upper
Marlborough in said county, and shall give four days' notice
thereof by advertisement set up at four of the most public places
in the town, describing the geese or swine impounded, and that
