1870, ch. 260.

214. They may pass ordinances to prevent horses and swine
from running at large within the limits of the town.

215. No person shall permit his hogs to ran at large within
the limits of said town; and if any hog shall be found running
at large therein, the bailiff shall forthwith seize and impound the
same, and shall immediately give notice thereof by public adver-
tisement ; and if the owner shall not, within three days thereafter,
pay said bailiff fifty cents for every day of the impounding of
any hog, the bailiff shall sell the same at public sale, and after
deducting one dollar for every hog, shall pay the purchase
money to the treasurer of the town.

216. The commissioners shall erect lamp-posts and place
lamps at such places in the town as they may think proper, and
shall provide for lighting such lamps.

217. They are authorized to erect a suitable enclosure for the
impounding of all hogs found running at large within the limits
of said town, and in violation of any of its ordinances.

218. They are empowered to erect or procure a proper or
necessary room or building for the confinement of such persons
as shall be convicted and committed for fines, misdemeanors or
offences against any ordinance passed by said board of commis-
sioners under this charter.

219. They may provide for and take care of all persons suffer-
ing from accident or otherwise, who are unable to take care of
themselves, and if deemed necessary, shall have them sent to the
almshouse of Prince George's county; and all expenses so in-
curred shall be repaid to the commissioners of the town by the
county commissioners, who are authorized and required to levy
annually for such amounts, payable to the commissioners of said
town.
