1572 PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY. [ART. 17.

and docketed, for which service he shall be allowed the same
compensation as is now allowed for similar services, to be paid
for by the grantee in the conveyance, and parties to the suit,
respectively, as other costs are now paid.

COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.

86. There shall be five county commissioners for Prince
George's county.

87. They shall annually appoint a clerk; and in case of
vacancy in the office of clerk, shall fill such vacancy at their first
meeting thereafter.

88. Before entering upon the duties of his office, he shall take
an oath, before any one of said commissioners, that as the clerk
to the county commissioners of Prince George's county, he will
diligently and faithfully, without partiality or prejudice, discharge
the duties of his office to the best of his skill and judgment.

89. He shall also execute a bond to the State of Maryland, to
be approved by said commissioners, in the penalty of one thous-
and dollars, conditioned for the faithful performance of the duties
imposed upon him by law; which bond shall be recorded in the
office of the clerk of the circuit court for said county.

90. He shall exhibit the books, levies and papers in the office
of said commissioners to any person applying to view the same,
and make copies or extracts thereof without charge.

1884, ch. 475.

91. He shall be entitled to an annual salary of one thousand
dollars, in consideration of which he shall do all the clerical
labor of his office; and the county commissioners are forbidden
to increase said salary, or to give any extra compensation to the
said clerk for any work he may do in his office.
