1504 MONTGOMERY COUNTY. [ART. 16.

vices; and when the bailiff wilfully fails to discharge any duties
of his office, he may be fined not exceeding ten dollars for any
one offence.

49. Any fines, penalties and forfeitures imposed by this char-
ter, or by any ordinance of the commissioners, may be collected
by proceedings in the name of the commissioners or a justice of
the peace; and the said president or justice of the peace shall
have power to commit the offender to the county jail, on failure
to pay such fines and forfeitures, until the same shall be paid
with cost.

50. The commissioners shall not expend or contract to expend,
in any one year, more money than the amount receivable from
taxes and other sources for that year.

51. The commissioners for the county, justices of the peacer
sheriffs, constables and all State and county officers, shall have,
hold and exercise their offices and jurisdiction in said town as if
the charter of said town had not been granted; and the commis-
sioners for Montgomery county shall appropriate, annually, one
half of the tax levied or imposed upon the assessable property
within the corporate limits of the town, and shall order the county
collectors, who shall collect the taxes within said corporate limits,
to pay said one-half thereof to the commissioners of said town,
for that purpose.

52. The commissioners shall have power to establish building
lines on all the streets in said town, or which shall hereafter be
opened therein, and to compel all persons hereafter erecting;
buildings in said town to conform thereto.
