1438 KENT COUNTY. [ART. 15.

behaved in a disorderly manner, or hath neglected or refused to
obey any of the rules of the said corporation, said trustee may
order and direct such moderate and proper correction, not
exceeding ten lashes for any one offence, as the nature of the case
may require.

28. Any justice of the peace for said county, or any person
Authorized and appointed by such justice, may apprehend, or
cause to be apprehended and committed to said almshouse, any
vagrants, vagabonds, beggars, and other idle and dissolute and dis-
orderly persons found loitering or residing in said county, who
follow no labor, trade or occupation, and have no means of
subsistence, there to be kept at hard labor for any time not
exceeding three months.

trustees and the officers appointed by them, in the discharge of
their respective duties.
