ART. 15.] ALMSHOUSE. 1435

P. L. L., (1860,) art. 14, sec. 9.

9. They may make and establish such rules for the the relief,
regulation and labor of the poor, and for the good government of
the almshouse in said county, not contrary to law, as to them
shall from time to time appear most fit and requisite.

10. They shall meet between the first and the tenth days of
November, yearly, and appoint a fit person to be overseer of the
almshouse in said county, and other proper officers and servants
necessary for carrying on the business of said corporation.

11. They may allow such overseer any sum not exceeding two-
hundred dollars per annum, and so pro rata, during his continu-
ance in office.

12. The said overseer shall give bond, payable to the said
trustees, with good and sufficient security, in the penalty of five
hundred dollars, conditioned for the faithful performance of his.
duty as overseer.

13. The trustees may remove such overseer in their discretion,
and appoint another in his place.

Ibid. sec. 14.

14. They shall meet four times in each year, in the first week
in January, May, August and November, or oftener if necessary,
and by a majority of votes make the rules and regulations afore-
said.

15. All meetings of the said trustees shall be held at the alms-
house, except such as may be necessary for the settlement and
passage of their accounts with the county commissioners.

16. They shall provide suitable farming stock and implements,
of husbandry for said almshouse, and cause all paupers who may
