no person shall at any time catch or destroy any wild deer by
Tunning or chasing them by dogs, unless they shall have been
first wounded during the above-mentioned months.

1886. sec 42.

66. For every violation of the above section the offender shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and on conviction before a
justice of the peace, or on presentment, indictment and conviction,
shall pay a fine of not less than fifty dollars nor more than one
hundred dollars, of which one-half shall go to the informer and
one-half to the board of county school commissioners for school
purposes; and on failure to pay said fine, he shall be imprisoned
in the county jail for a period of not less than sixty nor more
than ninety days.

67. The possession by any person within the county, of any

deer meat, within the time prohibited by section 65, shall be
prima facie evidence that the same was killed within the limits
of said county, and that the person so in possession thereof killed
the same.

68. It shall be the duty of the constables of the several election

districts of the county, to arrest all persons who they have good
reason to believe are guilty of violating any of the provisions of
section 65, and take them before a justice of the peace for trial or
learing, as provided in section 66; and any constable failing to
perform his duty herein as aforesaid, shall be guilty of a misde-
meanor, and on indictment and conviction shall be subject to
such penalty as the court may impose.

69. It shall not be lawful for any person to chase or hunt deer

with dogs on Winding Ridge, Meadow Mountain, Negro Moun-
tain, or any place east of the Youghiogheny river, in Garrett

county; and it shall be lawful for any person to shoot or kill any
hounds found chasing deer in any of the places above mentioned;
and it shall be prima fade evidence to convict under this
section if any person shall be found in any of the above-named
places with a hound, unless such person be on his own premises
or traveling on some public road.
