WITNESSES.
P. L. L., (1860,) art. 11, sec. 317.
452. Each witness attending the circuit court or orphans'
court, shall be entitled to the sum of one dollar a day for each,
days' attendance, besides itinerant charges to be allowed to wit-
nesses coming from other counties.

453. The county commissioners shall annually levy a sufficient
sum in advance, to pay the State's witnesses in said county, at the
close of each term of the circuit court.

454. Whenever any person shall present to the collector of
said county an order from the clerk of the circuit court for his
attendance as a State's witness, he shall pay to such person or his
order, the amount due him, after deducting therefrom all charges,
he may have against such witness.
WOLVES AND FOXES.
P. L. L., (1860,) art. 11, sec. 820.
455. Any person who shall kill any wolf in said county, shall
be entitled to compensation therefor from the county, as follows:
for every old wolf sixteen dollars, and for every young wolf eight
dollars.

456. When any person shall bring before a justice of the
peace for said county the head or heads of any wolf or wolves,
and make oath that the wolf or wolves of which he produces the
head or heads, were actually caught and killed within the limits
of said county, within six days next before the producing of the
same to such justice, such justice shall give to such person a cer-
tificate for such head or heads, produced as aforesaid, and in such,
certificate mention the oath taken, and therein distinguish how
many of the heads are of old or young wolves; and the justice
shall judge of the age or ages of the wolf or wolves; and if he
shall believe the age of such wolf or wolves to exceed six months,
he shall distinguish them in his certificate by the words " old
