1867, ch. 53

99. They shall have full power and authority to straighten
and widen old streets, and to lay out and grade -new ones, when
in their discretion the same may be necessary; and they shall
have full power to provide for the payment of damages and
expenses incurred in widening or opening the streets aforesaid,
by levying an assessment upon the whole of the assessable prop-
erty of the town, or upon the property of persons benefited
thereby.

100. Nothing contained in this sub-title of this article shall be
so construed as to authorize the corporation to issue any device,
token, note, certificate, or evidence of debt, to be used as currency.

CIRCUIT COURT.

101. There shall be four terms of the circuit court for Dor-
chester county in each year, commencing on the fourth Monday
in each of the months of January, April and July, and the second
Monday of November.

102. Juries shall be summoned to the April and November
terms.

103. The judges of the circuit court for Dorchester county
shall have power to pass all such rules as shall be necessary to
facilitate the transaction of business in said court; provided, how-
ever, that such rules shall provide for the transaction of equity
business; and the said court shall be considered to be always
open for equity business.
