1000 DORCHESTER COUNTY. [ART. 10.

creek in front of his property, and without and beyond the harbor-
line, he shall give notice of such intention by advertisement, pub-
lished at least once a week for three successive weeks in some
newspaper published in said town, of his intention to apply to the
commissioners of Cambridge for a building permit to improve his
water front; and he shall at the same time file his apph'cation with
said commissioners, in which he shall specifically and minutely
describe his proposed improvement; and upon the expiration of
such notice the said commissioners shall take up such application,
and hear and determine the reasons for or against granting the
building permit asked for, and shall have full power and authority
to grant the same in whole or in part, or totally reject the same,
as to them may seem just and right, having regard to the public
interests to be affected, as well as the interest of the particular
applicant; and all the expenses connected with such application
shall be defrayed by the party desiring the permit, and in no case
shall devolve upon the said corporation.

CEMETERY.

1888, ch. 47.

88. The county commissioners are authorized and directed to
purchase from one to five acres of land located near and con-
venient to the town of Cambridge, to be used and dedicated as
a public cemetery for the burial of the poor, and to be called
"The Dorchester Public Cemetery." The said commissioners,
after purchasing said suitable lot, shall have the same properly
enclosed and continually kept in proper order for the aforesaid
use.

CHURCH CREEK.

1867, ch. 53.

89. The citizens of the town of Church Creek are a body cor-
porate, by the name of "The Commissioners of Church Creek,"
with all the privileges of a body corporate, and shall have a common
seal and perpetual succession.

one years and upwards, being citizens of the United States, who
