book of the proper size, he shall cause the same to be well and
substantially bound in leather and placed among the records of
his office; and the comptroller of the treasury is hereby directed
to issue his warrant for such sum or sums of money as from time
to time may be necessary for the cost of such binding, upon the
certificate of the correctness of the same given by the said com-
missioner of the land office.

15. He is authorized and empowered to continue the indexing
of certain land records and extracts of deeds which were trans-
ferred to the land office from the court of appeals, under the said
act of 1874, chapter 66, and such extracts of deeds as shall
be received by him from the clerks of the circuit courts of
this State, for which said service there shall be allowed and paid
the same rates allowed by law to the clerks of the circuit courts
for similar services.

16. The comptroller of the treasury is directed to issue his
warrant for such sum or sums as may from time to time be
necessary to meet the cost of such indexing, upon the certificate
of the correctness of the same given by the commissioner of the
land office.

17. Upon application in writing of any person claiming to be
entitled to any of the British confiscated lands sold by the com-
missioners appointed under the authority of this State to preserve
and sell British confiscated property, the title to which still
remains in the State, and praying that title thereto may be
granted to him, and upon satisfactory proof submitted to the
commissioner of the hind office that such applicant is entitled to
receive title thereto, the said commissioner shall issue a patent for
such land to the person appearing to him to be entitled thereto.
