666 ELECTIONS—JUDGES OF ELECTION. [ART. 33

75. In all cases where a county or city has been, or shall be,
divided for the purpose of forming a district to elect a member
to the congress of the United States, the judges, in making this
return, shall designate therein that the said district at which they
presided as judges is part of district No. —, as laid out by law, to
choose a member to represent this State in the congress of the
United States.

76. If, at the time appointed for the assembling of the said
judges, any of them should be prevented from attending, the
judge or judges who shall attend, may adjourn from day to day
until the judges required to meet shall assemble, immediately
after which, they shall proceed to perform the duties required of
them.

77. The said judges shall lodge with the clerk of the circuit
court for the county, or the clerk of the superior court of Balti-
more city, within five days, or sooner if practicable, from their
meeting as aforesaid, the books of the polls of all the districts in
the county or precincts in the city, together with a certificate
of all the votes given in the said districts or precincts.

78. All returns of elections shall be made in the several
counties to the respective clerks of the circuit courts; and in the
city of Baltimore to the clerk of the superior court of that city-

79. A copy of the count as entered and endorsed on the
books of the polls as hereinbefore provided, shall be, at the close
of said election, delivered to each one of the representatives of
the candidates voted for at said election entitled to be present at
the count, and another copy thereof with all the ballots cast at
any election shall also, as soon as the count is closed and result
ascertained, be placed in the ballot-box by the judges of election,
and the ballot-box shall be locked and the key removed there
