seduced, enticed, or persuaded, shall, on conviction, be sentenced
to suffer such punishment as the person committing said offence
would be liable to suffer, as a punishment for the crime so committed
by him.

137. If any person, within this State, shall attempt to seduce,
entice or persuade any other person to commit any of the offences,
which by the several sections of this article relating to treason are
prohibited, though such offence has not been committed, and shall be
convicted thereof, he shall be sentenced to confinement in the peni-
tentiary for not less than two years nor more than four years, or to
a fine of not less than five hundred nor more than two thousand dol-
lars, in the discretion of the court.

138. If any person shall bribe or attempt to bribe any execu-
tive officer of the State of Maryland, any judge or other judicial officer
of said State, any member or officer of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, or any member or officer of any municipal corporation in said
State, or any executive officer of such corporation, in order to influ-
ence any such officer or person in the performance of any of his
official duties; and if any governor or other executive officer of
the State of Maryland, any judge or other judicial officer of said
State, any member of the General Assembly of Maryland or officer
thereof, or any member or officer of any municipal corporation, or
mayor or other executive officer thereof in said State shall demand

130. Every embracer who shall procure any juror to take gain
or profit for rendering his verdict, upon conviction, and every juror
convicted of taking gain or profit for giving his verdict, shall undergo
