7. The remaining copies of the laws, journals, and documents

8. The librarian shall deliver to each public circulating library or
library association which may make application therefor, and to the
Maryland Historical Society, one copy of the laws, journals, and
documents, and other official publications of the State; provided,
there be at the time of the application more than fifty copies of the
volume applied for in the library.

9. The Maryland Reports shall be distributed by the librarian in
the following manner, that is to say: To the Court of Appeals, two
copies for the office and one for each of the judges thereof, to each
of the associate judges of the Circuit Courts of the several counties,
to the chief judge and the associate judges of the Court of the Su-
preme Bench of Baltimore City, one copy each for the use of their
respective offices; to the clerks of the Circuit Courts for the several
counties and of the city of Baltimore, and the clerk of the Superior
Court of Baltimore City, the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas,
the clerk of the City Court of Baltimore, and the clerk of the Crim-
inal Court of Baltimore, one copy each; to the registers of wills
throughout the State, for the use of the registers of wills and
Orphans' Court, one copy; to the commissioner of the Land Office,
one copy; to the executive chamber, one copy, to the superin-
tendent of labor and agriculture, one copy; to the library of Con-
gress, two copies; to the General Assembly, eight copies; and to

the executive department of each State in the Union, one copy.
10. The remainder of said Reports shall be deposited in the State

11. The librarian shall prepare a system of rules and regulations
for the more effectual security of the public buildings within the
Statehouse circle, and for the government of the watch when on
duty; and the watchman, when on duty, shall execute the same, on
pain of removal from office for neglect of duty.

12. The sum of five hundred dollars shall be appropriated annu-
ally for the purchase of books and maps for the augmentation of the
library, to be expended under the direction of the committee
named in the act of 1872. c 272, or their successors, appointed by
the Court of Appeals.

13. The said committee shall establish such rules and regulations
relative to the State Library as to them may seem proper, and may
alter and amend the same from time to time; provided, such rules
