REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, MARRIAGES, AND DEATHS.

1 Facts to be recorded by clerks of courts,
and how, record book of births, of mar-
riages, of marriage licenses, blank forms
to be furnished, record book of deaths
2 Record books, how paged, indexed, etc
3. Duties of parents, householders, prison-
keepers, clergymen, etc, to give notice
to clerks of courts, penalty
4 Duty of physicians
5 Of sextons, coroners, undertakers, etc
6 Notices may be given to justices, duty of
the same

7 Certified copies to be transmitted to secre-
tary of Senate
8 Records of births, etc, evidence

1. The clerks of the Circuit Courts of the several counties and
the clerk of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City, shall
receive and record in books prepared for the purpose, the fol-
lowing facts concerning the births, marriages, and deaths in said
county or city, separately numbering and recording the same in the
order in which he receives them, designating in separate columns,

First. In the record book of births, the date of the birth, the
place of birth, the name of the child (if it have any), the sex and
color of the child, the names of the parents, the occupation of the
father, the residence of the parents, and the date of the record.

Second. In the record book of marriages, the name, residence,
age, color, condition (whether single, widow, or widower), and occu-
pation of each of the parties, with the date of record, which said
particulars, with the exception of the date of record, shall be ascer-

tained and inserted in the body of the marriage license by the clerk
issuing the same, and at the time thereof, and the date, place of
marriage, name, residence and official station or title, of the person
solemnizing it, shall be duly stated or certified on the back of said
license by the person thus solemnizing it, and return thereof made
as hereinafter provided; and for all of which said particulars, suit-

Third. In the record book of deaths, the date of the death, the
name of the deceased, the sex, the color, the condition (whether
single, widowed, or married), the age, the residence, the occupation,

dence of the parents, the disease or cause of death, the place of
burial, and the date of record.
