ART. 26. ] HOSPITALS AND ASYLUMS.

declared to be a public agency of this State for the administration
of one of the charities thereof, and the hospital aforesaid, located
as aforesaid, is hereby declared to be one of the means adopted by
this State for the administration of one of its public chanties.

14. The Maryland Inebriate Asylum is by that name incor-
porated and constituted a body politic and corporate

corporate name, to take, purchase, and hold real estate in the State
of Maryland, and erect thereon a building or buildings suitable for
the purposes of said asylum, and to take, purchase, hold, and convey
such real or personal property as may be necessary or proper to

power to sue and be sued; to make and use a common seal, and to
alter the same at pleasure; and to take and hold any grant or devise
