82 MILITIA — MILITARY. [Art, 63.
ARTICLE LXIII.

Militia.

1867. c. 337, repeals this article, and the acts of 1861, c. 70,
and 1864, c. 284, and sects. 652 to 770, both inclusive, of
article 4, of pub. local laws, relating to militia in the city of
Baltimore, and amends and re-enacts this article.

See const. 1867, article ix. Article in. sec. 59, of the const,
is also prohibitory of s. 14, (relating to pensions) of the act of
1867, c. 337.

1868. c. 414, repeals 1867, c. 337, being article 58, "Militia. "

ARTICLE LXIII.

Military.

1868, c. 414, repeals 1867, c. 337, (article 63, " Militia, ")
and enacts in lieu thereof sects, numbered 1 to 39, inclusive,
to be arranged in the public general laws under an article so
be entitled " Military. " (See const, article ix. )

Sup. 1868, p. 137.

The act of 1868, c. 425, provides for the liquidation and settlement of
claims heretofore contracted for arming, equipping and uniforming the
militia.

The act of 1868, c. 486, authorizes the adjutant-general to purchase
muskets, &c., for the use of Charlotte Hall school.

1870, c. 182, repeals 1868, c. 414, and enacts in lieu thereof
ss. 1 to 27, under this title. (See const, article ix. )

Sup. 1870, p. 87.

The act of 1870, c. 192, s. 7, exempts the road supervisors of Anne
Arundel county from militia and jury duty; and the act of 1870, c. 142, in
like manner exempts road supervisors of Howard county.

The act of 1872, c. 431, releases the bonds of captains of military com-
panies from liability in certain cases.
